D-Now

What is D-Now?
This is a question I keep getting asked as I've been posting pictures about our D-Now weekend......

D-Now or Disciple Now is a youth retreat weekend. The youth get to get away from their home, hang out with friend, fellowship, play games/pranks, be lead by older students, etc. It focusses on Small Groups, Discipleship, Church Focus, and service opportunities. It's a great time for the youth to relax and focus on their relationship with God, but to also have a good time.

This weekend we were the Host Home for 11th grade girls. So we had 4 girls + 2 college leaders. It was great to see these girls all come together, become stronger friends, but also grow in their relationship with Christ. Us old people were very sleep deprived, but it was well worth the fun. (We got caught up on our sleep yesterday after church)! We were blessed with a great group of girls, who currently have their hearts in the right places. I pray these girls continue on Our Father's track for their lives, as they will soon be entering the real world!

As one of the D-Now traditions, the high school girls play pranks on the high school boys and vica-versa. So Saturday night was the big pranking night. They all dressed in their 'Destroyer' outfits and went out. It was all, of course, done in fun and no property was permanently damaged. Needless to say Tristan was in heaven, but we had to quickly remind her that this was not normal activity!!!

Here are our Destroyers ready to Roll Out!

Thank you God for a wonderful fun filled weekend!

God Bless You All

Teenagers

I sure wish kids came with an instruction book!

There is this thing that lives in my house, who  appears to be a teenage boy. Boy is the key word here....notice I didn't call it a teenage man. Because a man wouldn't act the way this thing acts. This thing is called my son, Jackson, who is gonna be the death of me.

(Heaven help me if T acts this way when she becomes a teenager!!) I better start praying!

I need a manual, an instruction book, a guide to teach me how to raise this boy. His attitude is off the chain! So does anyone have any suggestions on how to handle this teenage boy situation?! This mama (and even dad) are at a lose for words!

HELP

God Bless,
Carrie
